Every medicine depends on systems that must perform reliably, every day. From development to manufacturing and supply, consistency matters — because patients are counting on it.
This year, our partners at Geronimo Power announced the start of commercial operations at the Blevins Solar & Storage Project in Falls County, Texas. Through a long‑term power purchase agreement, Bristol Myers Squibb is helping bring new renewable energy and storage capacity onto the grid, supporting a more stable and resilient energy system while advancing our goal of sourcing 100% of purchased electricity from renewable sources by 2030.
Now fully operational, Blevins adds 270 megawatts of solar power and 360 megawatt‑hours of battery storage to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid. The project helps meet growing demand for electricity while strengthening grid reliability across the region.
Strengthening systems at scale
Over its first two decades, Blevins is expected to offset more than 9 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions and generate enough clean electricity each year to power nearly 89,000 homes.
Beyond environmental impact, the project contributes approximately $33.8 million in direct economic value to Falls County, including new tax revenue to support local schools and emergency services, as well as jobs during construction and ongoing operations.
Sustainability that supports reliability
For Bristol Myers Squibb, sustainability is not separate from how we operate, it is part of how we build resilience into our systems.
Investments like Blevins support the expansion of renewable energy at scale, strengthening the infrastructure our operations depend on and helping ensure we can continue producing medicines consistently, today and in the years ahead.
